Thriving as a New or Guest Teacher Part Two: Setting Up for a Successful Year

This workshop is designed to equip you with the essential skills to confidently lead any classroom, whether you're a new teacher or a substitute stepping in. This session will focus on providing practical and well-tested strategies and resources to help you gear up for the start of the year.

Participants will:

  • Learn practical strategies for establishing routines, handling disruptions, and fostering a positive learning environment
  • Build a toolkit of instructional strategies for engaging students
  • Learn “survival” and “backup plan” strategies for times when things don’t go as expected
  • Receive ideas for resources to continue to help strengthen teaching
  • Recognize the importance of and strategies for self-care
